Boowhasheenee read law at the University of London International Programmes. She was called to the Bar in England and Wales, as a Member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in 2012. Boowhasheenee holds a diplôme d’Université en Droit Civil Mauricien from the Université de la Réunion. She started private practice as self-employed Barrister in 2014 after being called to the Bar in Mauritius and thereafter joined the Central Electricity Board in 2018. At the Central Electricity Board, Boowhasheenee mastered energy law and related contractual documents such as Energy Supply and Purchase Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements and Connection Agreements, amongst others. She has extensive experience and practice in litigation having appeared before the various courts across the island, as well as Dispute Resolution. Boowhasheenee has extensive knowledge in the administration of para-statal organisations and the decision-making process, with experience in policy making and decisions. She is also familiar with Dispute Adjudication Boards for energy disputes. Boowhasheenee joined the Chambers of Sanjay Bhuckory, SC in September 2025.
